Why Co.op Mart is special
For those of you who have spent time in Ha Noi or Ho Chi Minh City you will be familiar with Co-op Mart, it is a very Vietnamese style supermarket chain. The Co-op mart in Da Nang is located on Dien Bien Phu Street. You will be pleasantly surprised by what the supermarket has in stock as well as the other stores that are in same complex.
What to explore at Co.op Mart
Except for the lack of a Cinema, Co-op Mart centre in Da Nang has more to offer than the Big C. Both Lotteria and KFC have branches and there is also a Fahasa on the third floor. The floor is also home to a large bowling alley, at least 10 lanes and a games arcade much bigger than the one in Big C.
There is also a food court on the third floor with mostly Vietnamese food available and a place serving freshly squeezed juices.
Co-op Mart is home to the city’s first electronic motorbike parking. Instead of the standard paper ticket and chalk number on your bike, you are given a bar coded ticket which is swiped and includes your licence plate number, it is then swiped when you leave
Shopping at Co.op Mart is a much more Vietnamese experience than Big C or MM Mega Market. The upside of this is that some things are cheaper, the product range is very similar to what is available at Big C, Big C is cleaner and more spacious though.
